As a Social Media Virtual Assistant, I counsel my clients to use Twitter the same as other Social Media sites and that is as a form of relationship building. This means conversation. Would you have a conversation with someone just repeating the same 140 characters over and over again? No! The whole purpose of Twitter is to build that relationship by sharing useful, interesting information – industry related info, links to interesting articles, blogsites, helpful tips, hot discussions in the news and yes, even the occasional tweet about your family! Surely you can find enough things to talk about without repeating the same thing over and over.

Not everyone has the skills to successfully implement the first 6 strategies I’ve outlined above. Using a Social Media Specialist Virtual Assistant can be a good way to achieve success. This doesn’t mean that you can offload the entire responsibility onto your VA for your Social Media campaign. I was thinking the other day that this might be why I am so passionate about Social Media. It allows me to ‘travel’ and meet new people. Through the magic of the Internet, I have had the opportunity to meet and develop wonderful relationships with people all over the world. Even though I haven’t traveled to their cities in person, I’ve had the opportunity to learn about them, their families and their cities.
